2017 POCI Board of Directors Call for Applicants

POCI needs a few good men and women!  The world’s largest Pontiac Club is seeking individuals who are interested in guiding our club to a vibrant future. If you are a POCI member and feel you have the talent, ideas and drive to move POCI forward, please contact a member of the Nominating Committee listed below!

All potential candidates are urged to request and complete applications/questionnaires with a current photo and bio, received no later than November 30, 2016 (the sooner the better). Some general information: Must be an active POCI Member in good standing for at least one year; Officer or Chairperson experience is encouraged, but not required; convention experience is a plus; completed candidate application with bio and photo must be received no later than November 30, 2016. Please refer to the POCI Constitution and Bylaws for further details on the POCI web site, www.POCI.org.

POCI Board Members are expected to attend POCI Conventions (annual Board Meeting) each year they serve on the Board and are partially compensated for their travel expenses.  Board Members also are expected to be available during the convention to assist as needed.  POCI Board business is conducted by e-mail throughout the year and board members must have e-mail communication skills, and the ability to monitor e-mail frequently. POCI Board Members also are required to have a thorough understanding of the POCI Constitution and Bylaws along with knowledge of Robert’s Rules of Order. Board seats will be open to all incumbent and selected new candidates in all POCI geographic regions – Northeast, Central East, Southern, Great Lakes, Midwest, Western, and International.  All listed regions have at least one seat available. Please review the inside back cover of Smoke Signals for a list of states within a given region. Board members will be elected to three-year terms next spring and take office on June 1, 2017.

POCI Board Elections are conducted in March by a sealed and numbered ballot contained in Smoke Signals Magazine and completed ballots are received via mail and opened and recorded by an outside independent law firm. Ballots are only available to members via Smoke Signals and to e-Members by request to the POCI Club Office.  Excess ballots are destroyed by the printer. The ballots and record of tabulation are available to the general membership for viewing at the annual Board Meeting.
