AUGUST 17, 2017

Fourteen members began our meeting with a small prayer. Our meeting began at 6:56 p.m. with 14 members on hand. Bill Wolf read the treasurer’s report. There are now 86 members in our chapter. President Dianne Lennox brought in a revised version of last year’s car show sponsor form. It was decided to make some additional changes to the forms before members present them to potential sponsors of our 2017 show. We will consider offering a 50/50 at the Sunday, October 1st show. It was resolved after some discussion to slightly modify the dash plaques from last year’s canceled car show and include them in the goody bags to be given out at this year’s show. It was confirmed that a food truck will provide lunch at the show.   Mary Ann Schwedhelm brought in a men’s and ladies’ version of our new “dress” short-sleeved chapter shirt. Several members promptly placed orders with Mary Ann. Mary Ann also reported that we have a sufficient supply of chapter T-shirts and sweatshirts to sell at the car show. Nice work Mary Ann. We briefly talked about POCI’s 2018 convention to be held next June in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. Director Ray Schwedhelm commented that he enjoyed seeing several Tempests out at the Pontiac Nationals in Norwalk, Ohio in August. Several of us are looking forward to our next wine-making event which will kick off at noon on Sunday, October 22nd at Your Own Winery in Riverdale, New Jersey. In addition, we are considering a trip to Northlandz, “Home of the Great American Railway” in Flemington, New Jersey, but only after all of our wine has been bottled. Our next meetings will be held on Thursday, September 21st and Thursday, October 19th. Our meeting was over at 8:18 pm.

JULY 20, 2017

Nine members and 2 prospective members began our meeting at 6:56 p.m. with a small prayer. Bill Wolf read Lory’s treasurer’s report. Four new members have been added to our roster. Our next wine-making venture will commence at noon on Sunday, October 22nd at Your Own Winery in Riverdale, New Jersey. Ray and Mary Ann Schwedhelm had a most enjoyable time at the recent POCI Convention in Fort Worth, Texas. Mary Ann summarized the highlights of the 45th annual convention. It was reported that our website is up to date. Dianne Lennox, our chapter president will work on a revision of the sponsor form for our October 1st car show. We are considering using the dash plaques originally made for last year’s canceled car show for our show in 2017. This will save our chapter a good deal of money. Mary Ann will bring a sample of our new chapter “dress” sports-style shirt to our next meeting. Ray and Mary Ann will be driving out to Norwalk, Ohio during the first week of August to attend the Pontiac Nationals sponsored by Ames Performance. Kudos to Ray and Mary Ann for being among our most active members and for faithfully relating their Pontiac adventures at our meetings. Our next meetings will be held on Thursday, August 17th and Thursday, September 21st. Our meeting ended at 7:51 p.m. P.S. During this evening’s proceedings, the 2 prospective members happily became full- fledged members.

Fourteen members began our meeting with a small prayer at 6:51 p.m. Bill Wolf read Lory Wolf’s treasurer’s report. The number of chapter members has not changed since our May meeting.  Flyers for our Sunday, October 1st car show were passed around for members to hand out. An announcement of our show has been sent to Smoke Signals. Mary Ann Schwedhelm will arrange for a sample of our newly designed “dress” sports style chapter shirt to be made. Ladies’ sizes will be ordered too. Several dedicated members had an enjoyable day at an all Pontiac car show sponsored by the Long Island Chapter of POCI and the Long Island GTO Club on June 11th out in Bethpage. We discussed a possible chapter trip to Northlandz, “Home of the Great American Railway” in Flemington, New Jersey. We are still considering an excursion on the Warren County Winery Train. Mary Ann Schwedhelm showed us designs for our new T-shirt, sweatshirt and “dress” sports-style short sleeved shirt. Our new dress shirt will be black as the original and for an extra $5.00 a member may have his or her name placed on the front. Mary Ann will be taking shirt orders soon. An initial batch of our 2017 car show flyers will be run shortly. We will also book a food vendor for the show. We are considering the Jersey Spirits Distilling Co. in Fairfield, New Jersey and the Warren County Winery Train as sources of future chapter activities. Our meeting concluded at 8:00 pm.

Our meeting began prayerfully at 7:06 p.m. with 15 members attending. Lory Wolf read her treasurer’s report. Our membership stands at 85 including one Pontiac owner who joined the chapter at the end of this meeting. Many of us are looking forward to member Lou Calasibetta’s annual rain or shine get-together at his Old Stillwater Garage in Stillwater, New Jersey on Saturday, May 13th starting at 8:30 a.m. A few of us made plans to rendezvous at the Pompton Queen Diner on Route 23 North in Pompton Plains at 7:15 a.m. and then caravan to Lou’s where a hearty breakfast awaits. One more member chose to have his Metro News delivered electronically. About half a dozen of us are now receiving our newsletter via e-mail. Our web designer will continue with her updating of the Garden State Chapter website especially as concerns cruise nights. We are all encouraged to visit our website and to submit interesting info. Mary Ann Schwedhelm brought in for our ap- proval a paper copy of the proposed chapter T-shirt and sweatshirt logo and a logo for our new chapter “dress” sports-style shirt.
