DECEMBER 21, 2017

Fourteen members began our last meeting of the year at 6:56 p.m. as chapter chaplain Steve Sanguino gave our invocation. Lory Wolf read her treasurer’s report and passed around copies of the report. The chapter website was recently updated. An announcement of our “After-the-Holidays” party has been e-mailed to members. And Dianne Lennox, our chapter president handed out party information flyers. Those participants in our last wine-making venture agreed to bring several bottles for all to enjoy at our Sunday, January 21st party. We discussed a trip to Northlandz, the famous model railroad display in Flemington, New Jersey as an enjoyable chapter wintertime activity. We will check into the particulars of such an outing. Don Keefe, Founding Editor-in-Chief of Poncho Perfection Magazine will be sending an article about photographing cars to Bill Wolf, our newlletter editor for inclusion in a future Metro News. Mary Ann Schwedhelm delivered our new chapter “dress” shirts to those who had ordered them. Our next meetings will be held on Thursday, January 18th and Thursday, February 15th. Our meeting officially ended at 7:26 p.m. but several of us remained in happy conversation about our Christmas plans.

NOVEMBER 16, 2017

Our meeting began at 6:57 p.m. with an invocation by chapter chaplain Steve Sanguino. Eleven members were present. Lory Wolf read her treasurer’s report and also mentioned that we have approximately 90 chapter members. Our web designer will be updating our chapter web- site and our October 1st car show will be featured. We decided to hold our “After-the-Holidays” party on Sunday, January 21st at Casa Giuseppe in Lyndhurst, New Jersey. Announcements of the party will appear on our website and sent to members via e- mails. Mary Ann Schwedhelm has placed an order for our chapter “dress” sports-style shirts. She also reported on our chapter apparel inventory and mentioned that we will order more T-shirts and crewneck sweatshirts. Our next and final wine-making session will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 17th at Your Own Winery. To every participant’s joy this will be bottling day! We will arrange to bring some of the newly fermented product to our “After-the-Holidays” party. All present were enthusiastic about planning a trip to Northlandz “Home of the Great American Railway, Doll Museum and Art Gallery” in Flemington, New Jersey early in the New Year. The meeting was over at 7:37 p.m.

President’s Message Nov-Dec

Season’s Greetings and Happy Holidays!!!! Hope everyone had a most enjoyable holiday season.

The Chapter’s “After the Holidays” party will take place on Sunday, January 21, 2017 at 3 P.M. at Casa Giuseppe at 503 Valley Brook Avenue, Lyndhurst, New Jersey. As mentioned in the flyer we circulated, the menu is a la carte, and the restaurant is a BYO or you may purchase wine and cocktails from Bar 503, which is attached to the restaurant. We will also have samples of the wines our members made at this year’s “Make Your Own Wine” event.

As always, the New Year reminds us that Chapter dues are due in January. Reminder – annual Chapter dues are now $15.

Our next regular Chapter meetings are January 18 and February 15, 2018 at THE HEARTH, 1116 Route 46 West in Clifton. Come join us for some good food and good company. We’d also love to hear from our membership as to any activities and events you are planning on in 2018.

On behalf of our Chapter, we wish all our members very Happy Holidays and best wishes for a very Happy and Healthy New Year!!
